Kathy M. Linebarger

Kathy Miller Linebarger has been an active part of every community that she has lived. Linebarger has resided in Memphis, Tenn., and Chapel Hill, N.C., before moving to Johnson City in 1984. Linebarger worked as a dental assistant in both Memphis and Chapel Hill while helping her husband, Dr. William G. Linebarger, set up his dental office and train his staff. She served as the President of the First District Dental Auxiliary the year they were named Outstanding Auxiliary in the state of Tennessee.
She was a member of the Alliance to the American Association of Endodontists, where she served as Editor of the newsletter, President-elect and President.
After moving to Johnson City, Linebarger became engrossed in lending her services and knowledge to local organizations. She was a member of the Johnson City Junior League where she served as Placement chairman, President-elect, and President.
Linebarger has also been an active member in First Christian Church since 1988. She is a member of the church choir, has taught children's church, Vacation Bible School, and lent her talents to the children's summer programs.
Linebarger has also served as a Volunteer Coordinator of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate Golf Tournament at the Ridges for the past eight years.
Always having an interest in collegiate sports, Linebarger turned her attention towards helping East Tennessee State University Athletics programs. She has served for six years on the Pirate Club Board of Directors, two years of which she served as secretary. Linebarger has also been a member of the Buccaneer Athletics Scholarship Association (BASA) Board of Directors for the past six years and is currently serving as President. As part of her work on the BASA Board, she has helped with the auction committee doing the decorations for the events. In addition, Linebarger has helped on the Hospitality committee for the A-Sun Men's Basketball tournament when ETSU hosted this event for two years.
She has been married to her husband for 35 years. The couple has a son, Stephen Miller Linebarger. He is currently a student at ETSU, a Roan Scholar and is scheduled to graduate in December 2008.
