Sharon S. Clarke
Award of Honor

Continually climbing the corporate ladder and attaining one success after another has been the adventure Sharon S. Clarke has been on since graduated from East Tennessee State University. Clarke graduated magna cum laude in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts in Microbiology with a chemistry minor.

After graduation, Clarke joined Carter-Wallace as a Pharmaceutical Representative working in Charlottesville, Virginia. While in her sales representative role and serving as a regional Trainer for the organization, Clarke received numerous awards, the highest honor being the President’s Club Award for ranking in the top 5 percent of all sales representatives in her region. Remaining at Carter-Wallace, in 1989 Clarke was promoted to Manager, Training and Development in New Jersey. As a trainer she developed the training components for in-house sales representative training.

In 1990, Clarke was promoted to District Sales Manager and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she lived for the next four years. She met her husband Doug Clarke while living on the West Coast. She spent her time in the Bay Area being a newlywed and managing both primary care and specialty sales teams. During this time she won the President’s Club award and was named District Manager of the Year in 1994.

With a desire to get back to the Southeast, Clarke and her husband moved to Orlando, where for 4 years she managed a sales team in Florida. This was a wonderful experience as she had her first two children: her daughter, Regan and her son, Zachary. While expanding her family she was named District Manager of the Year for 1995 and 1996 and won the President’s Club award an additional two times.

Off to another adventure, Clarke accepted a promotion to become the Director of Training and moved with her family to the Princeton, New Jersey area. There she ran a department of nine individuals and had accountability for all company training initiatives. She was also named an internal winner of President’s Club for contributions to the Sales Organization in 2001.

Her family grew with the birth of her youngest child, Caitlin. New Jersey has remained home for the Clarke family for over 10 years. From the Director of Training role, she was promoted to Northeast Regional Sales Director and was accountable for the sales goals of seven districts. While in this position she finished #1 in the nation and won her final President’s Club. She was then promoted in 2003 to National Sales Director. Clarke was named Vice President of Sales in 2005. She was named one of the HealthCare Business Woman’s Association’s “Rising Stars” in 2006. In 2008, when Meda AB purchased the company, Clarke was promoted to her current position as President of Meda Pharmaceuticals and enjoys the role of leading a multimillion dollar organization. She is a trustee for the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey.

Clarke has been happily married to her husband Doug for 17 years and hobbies include reading, watching her children participate in their chosen activities and just spending time with her family.
