About Melanie:

Melanie Storie is a two-time graduate from East Tennessee State University. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in history with certification in secondary education in 1991. Then in 1994 she graduated with a Master of Arts degree in history. She developed some of the first online U.S. History courses for the department and continues to teach both online and face-to-face classes. While she enjoys researching, writing, and teaching about many historical topics, her main research interest centers on 19th century U.S. History with special emphasis on the American Civil War.
