Current Issue

The editor of The Mockingbird's 41st issue is Maggie Colvett. As an undergraduate, she has attended ETSU and the University of Manchester, and will graduate in 2014 as a University Honors Scholar with a B.A. in English. Her main academic interests are classical languages, American roots music, and ancient and contemporary poetry. She has given readings of her poems at the Boland Undergraduate Research Symposium and as a featured performer at the "Re-Generation" Story & Poetry Slam, which is co-sponsored by ETSU's Storytelling Program and the Department of Literature & Language. She also occasionally hosts the Poetry Open Mic event sponsored by the Department of Literature & Language. Her poems have appeared in previous editions of The Mockingbird. Colvett is a Johnson City native who divides her time between ETSU and Piney Flats, TN, where her family keeps guineas, ducks, and many dozens of chickens.
