She Raves

A casual, unrehearsed "rave" event where participants can informally share comments about family members, divas, writers, and other special women who have influenced their lives. Catered refreshments will be served. Co-sponsored with Women's Resource Center.

Magdalen Hsu-Li Concert
March 11, 7:00pm; DP Culp Center Auditorium
Hsu-Li is a nationally celebrated, award winning Asian American musician and speaker whose work highlights ethnic, gender, and sexual diversity. Commemorating International Women's Day, Hsu-Li will perform a selection of music from her latest CD "Fire," celebrated as one of the best albums of the year. Co-sponsored with Student Affairs, Women's Resource Center, Office of Equity and Diversity.

Beyond the Shadow of Little Rock: Remembering Daisy Bates

Public lecture by Dr. Darcy Martin, Alumnus of ETSU's MALS profram, Women's Studies emphasis. Dr. Martin will be discussing Daisy Bates, a courageous woman who displayed leadership and courage during the "Little Rock Crisis" of 1957-58.

Women, Power, and Dissent in the Hills of Carolina

Lecture by Dr. Mary Anglin, University of Kentucky
Dr. Anglin will be discussing her book by the same title, a unique exploration of gender, labor, and resistance in rural North Carolina.
