Mr. Ernie Rumsby
Ernie Rumsby was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. While still in high school, Ernie joined the United States Army at the age of 17.
Upon graduation, Ernie went through Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and received Advanced Individual Training at Fort Devens, Massachusetts.
Ernie was then attached to the United States Army Security Agency. After completing over four years of service, Ernie was honorably discharged from the Army and returned to the Detroit area. Here, he began his career as a Labor-Management Contract Negotiator. Ernie negotiated contracts on numerous levels, both nationally and internationally. Ernie retired in 2005 and relocated to Kingsport, Tennessee.
Ernie was a Co-Founder of the Tri-Cities Military Affairs Council in 2012 and has served as President since its inception. Ernie has been an Advocate for Military and Veteran Affairs in North East Tennessee as they relate to National Defense and the economic vitality of the area.
