Financial Aid & Scholarships

Scholarships

A number of scholarships are available to qualified students through the East Tennessee State College of Business and Technology. For a list of qualifications and available scholarships, visit the Scholarship Office. Most of the scholarships are for $1000 and are awarded for the upcoming academic year. All College of Business and Technology undergraduate students are eligible to apply for these scholarships. In addition, some scholarships are available to entering students who have been admitted to ETSU. Students receiving full scholarships through the University Honors or Roan Scholars programs are not eligible to receive additional business scholarships.  Graduate students should visit the School of Graduate Studies to identify opportunities available to them.

Since the funds for these scholarships are provided by business-persons, alumni, and other supporters of the College of Business and Technology, a number of selection criteria are necessary. Selection will be judged by a number of factors including:

  • Candidate's grade point average in college and/or ACT scores
  • Candidate's work experience
  • Candidate's participation in extra-curricular activities
  • Candidate's career objectives
  • Candidate must be a full-time student taking (12) hours or more per semester
  • Recommendations by references

Scholarship recipients are not automatically considered for subsequent awards. You must re-apply each year and will be compared with the current year's applicant pool. Deadline for application is March 1 of each year.

Please complete and submit the online scholarship application, available at http://einstein.etsu.edu/~csci/CBAT_Scholarships, on or before March 1 of the year you wish to be considered. The online application is only accessible January 2 - March 1 of each year. Please complete the application during that period. Thank you.

ARMY ROTC Scholarships

In addition to world-class leadership, Army ROTC also offers generous scholarships to qualified students. These scholarships are based solely on the student's merits—not financial needs. They can defray the full cost of tuition and provide additional tax-free allowances for books and necessary fees. Additionally, those on Army ROTC Scholarship are eligible to receive a tax-free stipend of up to $500 per month—for up to 10 months a year—to defray living expenses. In those instances in which the cost of room and board exceeds tuition expenses, scholarship winners may elect to have the cost of their room and board paid in lieu of their tuition.

ROTC scholarships at ETSU are worth up to approximately $85,000 for out-of-state students—covering full tuition and fees, books, and a monthly stipend for each year of undergraduate or graduate study—and are available to students majoring in any subject that leads to a Bachelor's degree. Scholarships area also available for students pursuing graduate degrees.
