Why Quillen

If you are looking for a school that you can call home, Quillen is the place for you. Quillen has one goal; and that is to produce the finest doctors, who are committed to their patients. The faculty and staff at Quillen is student centered and diligently work every day to ensure the time students spend here are the best educational years of their lives. Just one encounter with the faculty and staff here at Quillen and you will see that we all are part of the Quillen family.

Being a Quillen Student

Is everything I hoped it would be! I am challenged educationally in a collegiate manner that every day instills a hunger to know more about medicine. My classmates are among the best and brightest individuals, who care about each other like family. This creates a support system built upon the principles of family and friendship; the value of which is priceless.

Life Outside the Classroom

East Tennessee is an outdoor enthusiast's playground. Within 25 minutes I can be hiking on the Appalachian Trail or summiting magnificent mountains with the most breathtaking views. Quillen also has an amazing talent in selecting down-to-earth and amiable classmates. I feel like I have known some of my classmates for years. Spending time with my classmates outside of class is rich and refreshing. I am truly blessed with the friendships that have been fostered here at Quillen.

Prior Life

Before coming to Quillen I was a student at Tennessee Tech University. I was involved in student activities on campus and in the state higher education system. I spent most of my time outside of class volunteering with the local rescue squad; where I was an instructor and cross-trained in multiple rescue disciplines. I also worked on nights and weekends as an EMT for three years prior to medical school.

Words of Wisdom

Never give up or settle for anything! Only you can hold yourself back from achieving your dreams. Even if it takes time and persistence to grasp one's goal, the journey to achievement is just as important as the achievement itself. Remember, you can achieve anything and never doubt your own abilities.
