Marital Status Married almost 20 years
For me, Quillen was the only choice that made sense. The focus is bent toward providing education that will equip the rural TN physician to care for their community which is my ultimate goal. However, we are also well trained to work in any area or field with further training, so we are not limited.
Juggling School and Family
I cannot emphasize enough how much my husband picks up the majority of home duties. We had come to that understanding before we even started this journey, but had we not done that, I am sure there would be difficult conversations. He allows me to spend my time at home with my family instead of helping with laundry and other duties
Life Outside the Classroom
There are lots of opportunities to participate in sports, social events and other activities outside of class. However, my activities outside of class focus on family and church. I occasionally feel less connected to my classmates because I miss a lot of the fun things. However, my big goals are to finish this journey with an intact family and a medical degree.
Living in Northeast Tennessee
The schools are good, people are friendly and the area is beautiful. I'm totally biased, but I love Northeast TN.
I have been a Nurse Practitioner for 13 years. I've worked in Women's Health, Family Medicine and Hospitalist care. My husband is a pastor and we have 3 children at home.
