Job Description:

The Graduate Assistant for the Office of Equity and Diversity will assist with the BEST Mentoring Program and other programs that are sponsored through the Equity and Diversity Office. The Graduate Assistant with work with current students and other ETSU staff members and will be under direct supervision of the Director of Access and Student Success.

Job Qualifications:

Student must be punctual, dependable, possess a positive attitude, team player, and follow instructions. Applicants much have good communication and computer skills, the ability to work independently and be reliable. Applicants should have excellent verbal skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information discreetly. Applicants must have the ability to work with students from diverse populations. Applicants must be flexible and be willing to work evening and weekends.

Job Requirements:

The Graduate Assistant will have the primary responsible of the ETSU's BEST Mentoring Program. Other general office duties and other duties as assigned.

The graduate administrative assistantship will provide the opportunity for the student to use knowledge of Women’s Studies while enhancing skills relevant to the student's professional goals. This Graduate Assistantship will provide the student with a broader and deeper understanding of Women’s Studies and, under the supervision of the director, will enhance the quality of the program to the University.

The Office of Assessment maintains records on and processes certain senior level testing; manages academic program evaluations; conducts student, alumni, and employer satisfaction studies; reports data and findings to external bodies including the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS); and oversees various aspects of assessment implementation for the University.
We are currently seeking to fill a position for a Graduate Tuition Scholar (8 hours/week) for the 2014-15 academic year from one of the following programs: Psychology or Sociology. In addition to workplace professionalism, you must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), good oral and written communication skills, an understanding of data collection processes, and knowledge of ethical considerations in research (CITI Program training is a plus).
