Scholarship Criteria:

  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Be a resident of Tennessee

    for each year funded by this program

Scholarship Criteria:

Dorothy K. Parker Nursing Scholarship Endowment
The purpose of the Dorothy K. Parker Nursing Scholarship Endowment is to provide scholarship assistance to deserving students enrolled in the College of Nursing at East Tennessee State University. The endowment was established by Mr. C. E. Parker and the Parker family in living memory of Dorothy K. Parker.

Public Health M.P.H.

Bruce A. and Amelia R Goodrow Endowment

The purpose of the Bruce A. and Amelia R. Goodrow Endowment is to provide scholarships for ETSU students who are planning a career in public health.


Award Criteria:

  • Preference will be given to candidates who are veterans of the military force of the United States residing in East Tennessee; to students who are residents of either Hawkins or Grainger County, Tennessee or from any other rural East Tennessee county, in that order.
  • Candidates must demonstrate academic potential and ability, and be committed to a successful career in a public health profession. Preference will be given to candidates majoring in Community Health, Public Health Administration, Epidemiology, and Environmental Health.
  • Candidates must meet all requirements for entrance into the university and into their chosen health major.
  • The scholarship may be awarded to students on any classification level, but in order to receive this scholarship in subsequent semesters, the scholarship holder must complete at least 12 semester hours of course work each semester and must maintain the following minimum 3.5 GPA.

Qualified graduate students must also have a minimum of 2 years of documented real-world public health experience prior to applying.

Applications can be submitted by March 1 to the Office of the Dean for consideration by the College of Public Health Scholarship Committee.

Payton and Angela Ward Pruett Public Health Scholarship Criteria

The purpose of this award is to provide scholarship assistance to deserving students enrolled in the College of Public Health at East Tennessee State University.

Candidates for the award must:

  1. Be either an undergraduate or graduate Public Health student with an interest in environmental health sciences.
  2. Have demonstrated financial need.
  3. Have a minimum 3.2 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) or other significant accomplishment.
  4. Participate in at least one professional student organization.

Frist Global Health Scholarship
Scholarship Criteria:

  • Desire to travel to underserved countries around the globe and to improve the health of people
    living in those countries
  • Scholarship may provide up to $5,000 per selected student (this cannot exceed 80% of the total
    expenses for the international field experience)
  • Students will be responsible for the remaining 20% of the total expenses

The Wykoff Public Health Student Scholarship
Scholarship Criteria:

  • Meet all academic requirements to enroll in Public Health Field Experience course
  • Minimum cumulative graduate GPA of 3.5
