Graduate assistantships are considered on-campus employment. Students who have a graduate assistantship will normally be granted a waiver of tuition and fees. It is very important, however, to have money available to cover activity fees, insurance, books, rent and rent deposits, incidentals, etc. Please note that students must have a Social Security Number before they can be paid. Students in F-1 or J-1 visa status are not eligible for a Social Security Number without a paying job offer.
