Midway Honors Curriculum

Midway Honors Scholars enroll in the following honors courses during this 4-semester program:

Fall Semester I

  • UHON 3008 Foundations of Research
  • UHON 3108 Honors Colloquium III

Spring Semester I

  • Honors or Honors-enriched course in scholar's major
  • UHON 3108 Honors Colloquium III

Fall Semester II

  • Honors or Honors-enriched course in scholar's major
  • UHON 4108 Honors Colloquium IV
  • XXXX-4018 Honors Thesis

Spring II

  • Honors or Honors-enriched course in scholar's major
  • UHON 4108 Honors Colloquium IV
  • XXXX-4018 Honors Thesis

 

Scholarship

In-state and out-of-state tuition and most fees for four semesters of study

$500 Honors allowance each of 4 semesters to use for books or other school-related expenses

An opportunity to apply for a one-time $2500 award to pay for

  • Study abroad, National Student Exchange, Washington Center Internship
  • Approved undergraduate research project during summer session
  • A 5th semester of study at ETSU if needed to complete degree requirements

 

Undergraduate Research

Opportunities to apply discipline-specific knowledge and acquire research or creative skills, under the direction of a faculty mentor, necessary for outstanding employment and graduate or professional education.

 

Advising and Registration

  • Individual advising with UHS program director, major and minor advisors, and pre-professional advisor.
  • Priority registration

 

Honors House

24/7 access to Honors House on the ETSU campus for study, group activities, and social events.

 

Leadership

Opportunities to serve on boards and committees, provide service to the community and campus, and join international, national and regional organizations.
