Employee Giving Campaign

The 2009 Employee Giving Campaign Goal Has Been Achieved!

October 2, 2009

Dear ETSU Colleague,

Many thanks to all East Tennessee State University faculty, staff, students, retirees, and friends who generously give of their time, energy, and financial resources to make Tennessee a great place to call home. Your abundance in giving during the 2008-2009 University Giving Campaign provided more than $80,000 to agencies  that serve those in need, including designated charities of the United of Ways of Tennessee, Community Shares, Community Health Charities, and designated Independent Charitable Organizations.

Our 2009-2010 University Giving Campaign goal is $75,000.  We acknowledge that many of us are still troubled with the unprecedented economic challenges facing our country; however, with so many needs in our area continually reported, it is our hope that our campus community will continue the tradition of giving and that you will make a contribution. We ask that you consider becoming or repeating as a “Fair Share Giver” by dedicating one hour’s pay per month to the campaign. You can contact the Office of Human Resources, 423-439-5825, to determine your hourly pay.

As in years past, campaign materials are being distributed on the web, http://www.etsu.edu/humanres/relations/givingcampaign.aspx.  On the site, you’ll find a list of the more than 100 TBR-approved charitable organizations and the pledge form. These documents can be downloaded below. Once you’ve completed the pledge form, print and sign all forms and return them to the Office of Human Resources at Box 70564. Retain the donor copy for your personal records.

This year’s campaign, which continues through Friday, November 13 th, features the theme “Joining Together Making a Difference.” At ETSU, it is our faculty, staff, students, retirees, and friends who join together every day to make our campus great.   We trust that you, the members of our University Community, will join with us this year as we seek to make a difference through a successful Giving Campaign.

Sincerely,

Dear ETSU Colleague:

Many thanks to all East Tennessee State University faculty, staff, students, retirees, and friends who generously give of their time, energy, and monies to make Tennessee a great place to call home. Your abundance in giving during the 2008-2009 University Giving Campaign provided more than $80,000 to agencies that serve those in need, including designated charities of the United of Ways of Tennessee, Community Shares, Community Health Charities, and designated Independent Charitable Organizations.

The 2009-2010 Tennessee Board of Regents’ Employee Charitable Giving Campaign will kick off on Wednesday, September 16 at the SCOOP ON SERVICE and continue through Friday, November 13. The SCOOP ON SERVICE, a partnership between Volunteer ETSU and the Office of Community Service Programs, provides opportunities for our faculty, staff, and students to become familiar with the numerous social service agencies in our area including information about volunteer and giving opportunities. Agencies will have displays and provide brochures, promotional items, and volunteer applications.  Free ice cream novelties will also be available!

Our 2009-2010 University Giving Campaign goal is $75,000.  We acknowledge that many of us are dealing with the local repercussions of the economic challenges facing our country; however, with so many needs in our community continually reported, it is our hope that our campus community will continue the tradition of giving and that you will make a contribution.  No matter the size, your donation will be put to good use in addressing the many needs of our community.

Additional information regarding this year’s Campaign, including the brochure and pledge form, will be distributed online in the next week and posted to the Office of Human Resources website.   We hope to see you for this year’s giving campaign opening at the SCOOP ON SERVICE on Wednesday, September 16, Pedestrian Mall, between 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.!
