ETSU GoldMail
E-mail is the primary method of communication at ETSU. Students should check their e-mail at least once a day.

Admitted Students

If you have recently paid your application fee or been admitted, you'll need to activate your account. You do this by going to the Account Activation & Password Reset page at http://www.etsu.edu/activate/. You'll be asked for some information so that the system can look up your account and what you would like your password to be. The password must conform to certain complexity requirements.  The activation page will evaluate your chosen password as you type, and indicate if you need to make changes prior to submitting your password. You can view those requirements here.

Once you have successfully entered a password and the system finds your account, you'll be given your username and e-mail address. When you see this, wait 15 minutes and you should be able to log into your GoldMail account.

Accessing GoldMail

You can access GoldMail by going to . You can also click on the GoldMail Login link over in the left-hand column.  Simply enter in your username and password and you should be able to log in.  If this is the first time that you're logging into Goldmail, you may be asked to accept the terms of service for the account.  You may also be prompted to enter in some letters found in an image, commonly known as a captcha, to indicate to the system that you're a person and not an automated program.

If your web browser takes you to the standard Gmail login screen where the login box is on the right side of the page instead of the left, you can still access your Goldmail account.  Enter in your entire Goldmail e-mail address in the username field and then enter in your password.  You should be taken to your Goldmail account.  Please note that you will not be able to access both your Goldmail account and a Gmail account in the same browser on the same system at the same time.  You'll either need to log out of one and into another, or use a separate web browser for each account.

Resetting your password

If you happen to forget your password, you can use the account activation page to reset it. Remember to wait 15 minutes after you see your username and e-mail address before trying to access your account with the new password.  If you're unable to reset your password through the password reset page, feel free to contact the Student Helpdesk for Goldmail password assistance.
