New Student Orientation

At New Student Orientation you'll meet other new Bucs, learn more about resources to help you succeed, and begin your advising and registration process. We also have special programming for guests who attend Orientation!

New Student Orientation is required for all new undergraduate students. Graduate students should reach out to their program regarding next steps. 

Welcome to ETSU! Students admitted for the Spring 2025 semester can now register for Orientation! Students admitted for the Summer/Fall 2025 semester will be able to register in early February. See dates below!

Spring 2025 Students: Register for Orientation Today!

2025 Orientation Dates 

• Spring 2025 Orientation

  Who: Freshman and Transfer Students who are plannning to start classes in the Spring of 2025

  Date: Friday, January 10

  Time: 8:00am to approximately 4:00pm.

   

• Fall 2025 Freshman Orientation

  Who: Freshman Students planning to start classes in the Fall 2025 semester. 

  Dates:

  1. Friday, June 6
  2. Thursday, June 12
  3. Friday, June 13
  4. Friday, June 27
  5. Thursday, July 10
  6. Friday, July 11
  7. Friday, July 25
  8. Friday, August 8 (both freshman and transfer students can attend this date)

  Time: 8:00am to approximately 4:00pm.

• Fall 2025 Transfer Orientation

  Who: Transfer Students planning to start classes in the Fall 2025 semester. 

  Dates:

  1. Thursday, June 5
  2. Thursday, June 26
  3. Thursday, July 24
  4.  Friday, August 8  (both freshman and transfer students can attend this date)

  Time: 8:00am to approximately 4:00pm.

• Summer Term 2025 Orientation

  Who: Freshman and Transfer Students who are plannning to start classes in the Summer Term of 2025. 

  Date: Friday, May 16

  Time: 8:00am to approximately 4:00pm.

• Online Only Students

  For students who are admitted to programs 100% online, please email orientation@etsu.edu when you get your initial email inviting you to Orientation. We have an online Orientation program tailored just for you!
  

• International Orientation

Steps to Register for Orientation

 

• Step 1: Log in to the Orientation System

  Use your ETSU username (from your acceptance letter) and the password you created. Need to set/reset your password? Visit etsu.edu/activate.
• Step 2: Watch LAUNCH

  Complete LAUNCH –ETSU’s online pre-orientation program -- and take the LAUNCH quiz. These video modules will prepare you to attend ETSU and share important information from various offices. They only take around an hour to complete!
• Step 3: Reserve your Date and Pay

  Reserve your Orientation date by completing the registration information and paying the required $45 New Student Orientation fee. 

  Your guests are invited, too! Guest registration is $35 per person, limit 4 guests. Not sure who is coming with you? You can log back in and add them later. 

  *Please note: Orientation fees for student and guest(s) are non-refundable.

• Step 4: Plan for a Great Day!

  Review your Pre-Orientation Checklist in the Orientation Portal for fields that need to be completed. Please try to address these fields at least two weeks before Orientation and contact the appropriate offices if you need help.
