Graduation Parking Tips

The following is some information and tips to help you and your guests find convenient parking on campus.

  • Please note that there are two graduation ceremonies on December 13.  One at 10 AM and one at 2 PM.  With the first ceremony lasting nearly two hours it is probable that many parking spots will be occupied as those arrive for the second ceremony.  Please keep this in mind and plan accordingly for time.
  • Parking will be permitted on both the East and West sides of Memorial Center.  The parking garage will be open.  ACCESS TO THE WEST END OF CAMPUS AND THE PARKING GARAGE WILL BE FROM THE WEST SIDE ONLY.  See attached map.  Enter from State of Franklin Road via Jack Vest Drive ONLY.
  • All ETSU parking lots will be open and available for parking.  No permits required.  Fire lane, handicap, service vehicle and no parking areas will be enforced.
  • Handicap parking is available at any appropriately marked space.  Special arrangements will be made for handicap seating on the West side of Memorial Center with special "drop off" access permitted through the parking garage area.  Details and special permits available at graduation practice on Friday, December 12. (Note numbers 2 and 3 on the attached map.)
  • Given our brief history with the new garage and graduation parking, you and your family may be well advised to seek parking on the East side of campus near the administration building.  We are working closely with Johnson City Police to expedite traffic flow to and from the campus but delays should be anticipated.
  • We ask that you PLEASE not park across State of Franklin Road for either ceremony.  The parking garage at Millenium Center is for events there and at the Carnegie and should be avoided for graduation activities.  Likewise, the road near Ruby Tuesday and the bank must be left clear and open.  Parking is not permitted on this road.  Traffic is expected to be very heavy and crossing State of Franklin Road on foot can be extremely dangerous.  Please park somewhere on campus and don't risk crossing this busy thoroughfare.
  • Police, parking attendants and security personnel will be available to direct traffic and help find parking.
