ACT National

The ACT National exam which accesses students' college readiness is accepted at ETSU for admissions. Testing Services offer the exam on all of the national test dates.


ACT Residual

The ACT Residual exam is offered to individuals who have applied for admission to ETSU and cannot take the ACT national on a regularly scheduled date.  Certain restrictions may apply.  To take the exam you must come to the Testing Services office, complete the registration form, and pay a $50.00 nonrefundable fee.  You may contact Testing Services for more information at 423.439.6708 or send an email to .



COMPASS Exam

The COMPASS exam is administered by Testing Services to access students' Learning Support competencies. More information on Learning Support competencies is found at http://www.etsu.edu/uac/learningsupport/generalinfo.aspx. If you need to take the COMPASS exam, the Undergraduate Advisement Office is located on the 2nd floor of  D.P. Culp University Center to receive a permit to test.  For more information, call 423.439.5244.

A $20 non-refundable fee is charged for the COMPASS.

LSAT

The Law School Admission Test is a standardized exam administered nationally and used in the admissions process for law school candidates. General information and registration information is found on the LSAT website www.lsac.org.


Proctored exams

Testing Services administers tests for other universities for a fee. Tests may be paper-pencil based or online.  For more information contact Testing Services via email  or call 423.439.6708.


PRAXIS

Testing Services administers all of the Praxis series exams:

Praxis I PPST Series (computer and paper based exams)

Praxis II Licensure Series (computer and paper based exams)

Praxis ParaPro (computer and paper based exams)

Praxis School Leadership Series (computer and paper based exams)

From September 22, 2012 to July 20, 2013 parking near Warf-Pickel Hall, for the PRAXIS(paper based exams) reporting location site, will be limited due to construction. Please allow extra time to report and locate your testing room.  Late participants will not be admitted.  Please be aware of other conditions limiting or excluding cell phones, bags, backpacks and other items under PRAXIS rules and regulations.

SAT

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) exam is another exam used nationally and accepted at ETSU for college admission. ETSU administers the SAT Reasoning and Subject exam three times a year. Registration and information is found at www.collegeboard.org.


Senior Exit Exam (CCTST)

As a requirement for graduation, all first-time baccalaureate degree students must take the senior exit exam.  ETSU administers the California Critical Thinking Skills Test (CCTST).

The CCTST takes about one hour to complete.  Bring your ETSU Student ID card or driver's license as proof of identity.

Under certain circumstances, you may be exempt from the senior exit exam. Contact Assessment and Teaching at 423.439.7484.


TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language

The TOEFL test is required of international students seeking admission, whose native language is not English.  For information, go to the TOEFL website -  www.ets.org/toefl.
