Onsite Access
Collections
Our archival materials include family, business, and organizational papers, photographs, and audiovisual materials related to Appalachia as well as a wide array of records, photographs, and publications related to ETSU. You can visit our searchable online database to review a finding aid or collection guide for all of our collections. These guides will help you discover materials in our repository that may relate to your research interest. We also maintain a collection of books and other published materials related to the region. You can find these in the Sherrod Library catalog with Archives of Appalachia in the "Available At" section.

Our Reading Room is open to the public for in-person research Monday-Friday from 9:00 am-4:30 pm, with the exception of University Holidays and administrative closings. We have public access computers available for you to search our collection database while onsite, or we are happy to assist you in locating relevant materials. We staff the Reading Room full time and there is no charge for onsite reference services. Please consult our Researcher's Guide for more information.
