Support the Archives of Appalachia
Since its founding in 1978, the Archives of Appalachia has developed into a leading center for preserving the histories and cultures of southern Appalachia. We rely on the generosity of donors to sustain and increase our efforts.
Collection Donations:
Collection donations have enabled the Archives to build a deep and rich collection of nearly two miles of manuscripts, 300,000 photographs, 100,000 audio and moving image recordings, and 15,000 books dating from the 1700s to the present.
If you would like to discuss donating materials to the Archives of Appalachia, please contact Collections Archivist Jen Bingham.
Financial Donations:
General financial gifts are used to support outreach events that expand the Archives' impact on the region through lectures, workshops, and other public programs; digitization projects that enhance the Archives' ongoing efforts preserving and providing access to collections; continuing education opportunities to ensure Archives' staff remain at the forefront of developments in information science; and special projects that support the Archives' mission.
