A. Education/Curriculum and Instruction - Read/4827/5827 - To reword the title and catalog description and to give variable credit hours for same course.
Action Taken by Council: Approved Read 5827 and forwarded to the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee for action
on Read 4827.
B. College of Public and Allied Health/Physical Therapy - Course modification to change the following graded classes to satisfactory/unsatisfactory. Awarding each student an AS @ rather than a AA @. AB @, AC @ should eliminate the problem of inter-rater unreliability as well as determining where a particular letter grade starts and ends on the VAS (Visual Analog Scale).
PHYT 5371 - Clinical Practicum I - 2 credit hours
PHYT 5472 - Clinical Practicum II - 2 credit hours
PHYT 5573 - Clinical Practicum III - 2 credit hours

IV. NEW BUSINESS
1. Graduate Faculty Status - Dr. Taylor provided a memo with two suggestions about graduate faculty status for retiring faculty. After discussion as to evaluation criteria,
Graduate School impact, and SACS standards, the following motion was acted upon.
Action Taken by Council: Referred to Graduate Faculty Sub-Committee for review and consideration.
2. Gradschools.Com - ETSU AHot Button @ listing - Dr. Brown provided a copy of the new Gradschools.Com Ahot button @ listing for ETSU explaining that students now looking for a graduate schools may access information on ETSU and link to our website automatically. As a new listing we will have our school preview first for a specified amount of time as a new advertiser. Gradschools.Com is the only organization that provides this type of advertisement for graduate schools.
3. GPSA Appreciation Week - Michael Vaughn, President of the Graduate and Professional Student Organization advised members of the upcoming GPSA Appreciation Week scheduled for April 10-14, 2000. Governor Sundquist has proclaimed this week as GPSA week in the State of Tennessee. Michael outlined scheduled events and stated that Linda Wyatt will be sending out a detailed listing of events to students, departments, and coordinators. Everyone was asked to encourage their students to attend these events.
