Prasun Bhattacharjee is a Associate Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics and Finance at East Tennessee State University.
Professor Bhattacharjee was raised in Calcutta, India. He attended Scottish Church College in Calcutta where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in 1998. In 2000, he was awarded an MA from Delhi School of Economics in Delhi, India. Dr. Bhattacharjee received his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in 2011.
Dr. Bhattacharjee has taught at ETSU since 2008. Prior to coming to ETSU, he worked as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student Instructor at Virginia Tech. At ETSU, Prasun was nominated in 2011 for the CBAT Excellence in Teaching award. In 2005 and 2006, he was awarded the Graduate Student Teaching Award from Virginia Tech.
Currently, the courses Dr. Bhattacharjee teaches include Principles of Macroeconomics and Health Care Economics.
Prasun Bhattacharjee currently resides in Johnson City, TN. One of his hobbies is playing the guitar. In his free time, he enjoys traveling and watching art movies.
