Dr. Cummings Onks has been at ETSU for over 20 years and has taught various courses over that time. She is currently the Director of the University Advisement Center and Director of the Learning Support Program. She adjunct teaches with the Clemmer College as well as in Cross Disciplinary Studies. Courses taught include: Family Development, Solving the Puzzle of Life, Child Development, and Research Methods – Qualitative Inquiry. Teaching in Cross Disciplinary studies have included courses in: Student Skill Development, The Human Animal Bond, The Nature Principle, Resiliency, and Conversation in the Digital Age.
Dr. Cummings Onks enjoys teaching these special topics as they allow her to develop courses in areas of interest that are thought-provoking and important to her. In her free time she enjoys writing, naturalist studies, volunteering with community engagement organizations, any activity that involves her family and friends, and exploring the state and national parks. Travel with her family and friends rates high on her list of favorite things to do!
