Dr. Marcia “Mar” Wilson joined ETSU in 2021 as a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. She completed her Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Tufts Medical Center and Tufts Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA. She obtained her Adult Psychiatry training at Palm Beach Consortium for Graduate Medical Education in Florida. While in residency, she received the John Adams Award for Excellence in Psychiatry and Resident of the Year Award. Dr. Wilson graduated with Sigma Sigma Phi honors from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she obtained her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina, where she graduated magna cum laude.
She has a passion for improving the well-being of children who have social, emotional, or developmental challenges. Dr. Wilson incorporates assessment, therapy, and medications as a means to increase happiness in the lives of children and adolescents.
Dr. Wilson has specialized training working with families of children with neurodevelopmental differences, such as autism. Dr. Wilson has worked with families who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. She is conversational in sign-language and enjoys continuing to learn the language to improve her fluency.
Dr. Wilson enjoys working as a team, teaching students and residents. As a fellow traveler through life, she values being present, curious, connected, and compassionate.
