Thomas L. and Jean L. Perry Jr.
Thomas L. and Jean L. Perry Jr. have long ties to East Tennessee State University, the Health Sciences Department in the College of Public Health, and to the work of public education.
Thomas graduated from ETSU in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and in 1960 with a Master of Science in Biology. Jean graduated from the institution in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education.
After completing his graduate studies, Thomas served as an instructor in the Department of Health Sciences. For the next 45 years Thomas taught Anatomy and Physiology until his retirement in 2005.
Jean served as an educator in Gate City, Virginia’s public schools during her long career of service. Thomas and Jean have demonstrated a deep and longstanding commitment to ETSU through their years of service and their advocacy and financial support of ETSU’s Intercollegiate Athletics, the College of Public Health, and especially the Department of Health Sciences.
