JOHNSON CITY (March 27, 2020) – East Tennessee State University’s College of Nursing was ranked 11th among the top accredited online nursing programs and schools in the country by Learn.org.
The list included the top 50 online nursing programs and schools according to Learn.org. ETSU was the only institution in Tennessee listed in in the top 20.
“This ranking is another affirmation of the high quality we provide our students through all of our programs – including our online programs,” said Dr. Wendy Nehring, dean of the ETSU College of Nursing. “Our online programs allow nurses to continue their nursing education while still working in the field, where they are valued and improving lives in our community every day. Now, perhaps more than ever, we need courageous and well-trained nurses on the front lines of health care. I am proud that ETSU is honored for our online education in nursing.”
ETSU College of Nursing offers online programs for undergraduate, graduate and past-graduate certificate students. The undergraduate online programs include an online RN to BSN program and a dual degree option for students currently enrolled in a community college program.
Online graduate programs include the master of science in nursing (MSN), the doctor of nursing practice (DNP) and a PhD in nursing.
The College of Nursing also offers post-graduate certificates for advanced practice registered nurses (APRN) with either an MSN or DNP degree who seek academic preparation in a new concentration area. Those certificates include adult/gerontology primary care nurse practitioner, family nurse practitioner and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
The Learn.org school ranking methodology categorizes and assesses data from schools and other reliable sources such as the U.S. Department of Education, and weighs the information based on quality, cost, value and other factors critical to students’ academic decisions.
