Free drop-in COVID-19 Testing
JOHNSON CITY (Jan. 30, 2021) – East Tennessee State University is providing free drop-in COVID-19 testing at various campus locations for students, faculty and staff two days a week through the end of April.
The initiative is an effort to increase access for asymptomatic testing. No appointment is necessary and testing locations include Sherrod Library, D.P. Culp Student Center, Governors Hall and Basler Center for Physical Activity (CPA). Free drop-in testing is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Locations, dates and times are subject to change. An up-to-date schedule is available at etsu.edu/covidtesting.
Members of the ETSU community experiencing COVID-19 symptoms are encouraged to contact
the University Health Center to arrange for testing at 423-439-4225. Another testing option, the ETSU Health COVID-19 Community Collection Site, is open
to the public. Tests are administered in the ETSU Parking Garage and results are provided
within 24 hours. Appointments are required. More information is available at etsuhealth.org.
“It is important that not only our campus, but our wider community have access to
COVID-19 testing and our drop-in testing initiative is our latest effort to make sure
testing is convenient for our on-campus residents, faculty and staff,” said Dr. Leigh
Johnson, ETSU Health director of COVID-19 response and member of the ETSU Medical
Response Team. “It only takes a few minutes to drop in, get your test and continue
your day. We appreciate those who are participating so that we can appropriately track
any asymptomatic cases, which may be more common among young, healthy individuals.”
