JOHNSON CITY – ETSU Health is hosting a Healthcare Leadership Summit for high school students from throughout the region on Tuesday, March 7, from 4-8 p.m. at East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine.
At the summit, students will have the opportunity to learn about careers in health
care, including medicine, nursing, physical and occupational therapy, emergency medical
services (EMS), radiologic science, pharmacy, public health and more. Students will
be divided into small groups and led by mentors to explore each health care station.
“This will be an immersive experience with hands-on activities at each station so
that students can gain exposure to what different fields in health care are actually
like,” said organizer and first-year Quillen student Suzanna Camp.
The summit is free to any high school student who is interested, but pre-registration is required by Feb. 10. Participants will receive a free T-shirt, and dinner is provided.
Students must arrange their own transportation to and from the summit. Quillen College
of Medicine is located on the VA campus at 178 Maple Drive, Mountain Home, TN 37684.
