Riley Green to headline ETSU Spring Concert

The annual SGA spring concert will include appearances from Maddie & Tae and Jordy Searcy.

Singer, songwriter and country music star Riley Green will headline the Student Government Association’s (SGA) Spring Concert at East Tennessee State University. Special guests Maddie & Tae and Jordy Searcy will also perform.

The artists will take the stage at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, at Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City.

Green, named the 2020 Academy of Country Music’s New Male Artist of the Year, was raised on the sounds of traditional country, bluegrass and Southern gospel. These genres laid a foundation for his songs, like his No. 1 platinum hit, “There Was This Girl,” and chart-topping collaboration with Thomas Rhett, “Half Of Me.”

Since releasing “Girl In A Country Song” in 2013, Maddie & Tae have cemented themselves as a powerful female duo, winning Group/Duo Video of the Year at the CMT Music Awards and earning a ninth nomination for Vocal Duo of the Year at the 57th CMA Awards.

Searcy, known for jaw-dropping lyrics, stunning vocals and intricate guitar work, has made quite a mark for an artist with only two album releases. Searcy has written over 1,000 songs in his career and has received viral support through TikTok and Spotify for his records “Molly” and “Love & War in Your Twenties.”

Tickets to the event will be sold to ETSU students, faculty and staff in the Carrier Center on the second floor of the D.P. Culp Student Center.

Students will be able to claim one free ticket with a valid ETSU ID and purchase up to two guest tickets for a discounted price of $10 each. Staff and faculty have the option to buy up to four tickets for $10 each with a valid ETSU ID. Student tickets are available for purchase starting March 4, and faculty and staff tickets on March 18.

The public can purchase tickets online only starting April 1 for $35 plus tax.
