As you prepare for the BBQs and pool parties this Fourth of July, East Tennessee State University encourages you to pause and reflect on all those who have served in the United States Armed Forces to defend and preserve the freedoms we celebrate.

In that spirit, here are some options available to military-affiliated students at ETSU:

Finances: Out-of-state tuition waivers, scholarships and work-study positions for those using the GI Bill® benefits are all financial-related options.

Academics: When it comes to military-affiliated students, the university provides priority registration for classes each semester.

Business: STRIVE, a free entrepreneurship training program for veterans, reserve and National Guard members, is taking applications for a course that begins Sept. 19. Aug. 1 is the deadline to register, and more information is available here.

Affiliations: Exclusive access to social and study spaces at ETSU’s Military-Affiliated Student Resource Center, membership in the ETSU chapter of the Student Veterans of America and consistent personalized support from the Office of Military and Veteran Services.

College Prep: ETSU’s Veterans Upward Bound, part of the federally funded TRiO programs, is a comprehensive organization that helps veterans prepare for college.
