The Tri-Cities College Fair will give attendees the opportunity to learn more about college admissions, scholarships, campus life and more.

East Tennessee State University’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions is hosting the Tri-Cities College Fair, an event designed for college-bound students and their families to explore higher education opportunities.

The event draws participation from over 60 colleges and universities across the Southeast. The fair will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Freedom Hall Civic Center, located at 1320 Pactolas Road in Johnson City.

The one-stop shop event is free and open to the public. Area high school students, prospective transfer students and their families are encouraged to attend, as representatives from regional two- and four-year institutions will be present. Attendees will be able to discuss and obtain information about the admissions process, scholarship opportunities, programs of study, life on campus and more.

“Embarking on the college search is exciting, but it can feel overwhelming, too,” said Kristin Wright, director of undergraduate recruitment at ETSU. “The goal of the Tri-Cities College Fair is simple: we want the event to be a space for people to come in with questions and leave with a plan. It is a great opportunity to have dozens of colleges come to you, and gain confidence in deciding next steps for your higher education journey.”

The Tri-Cities College Fair has partnered with StriveScan to make connecting with colleges fast and easy. Before the event, visit etsu.edu/tccf to build a free StriveScan profile and get a personalized barcode. The barcode can be scanned by chosen colleges to quickly share student information.

This year, a few food trucks will be present for attendees who wish to purchase refreshments at the event.
