The Honors College Community
University Honors Scholars (UHS) enjoy many benefits of being an honors student at ETSU
The University Honors Scholars program at ETSU offers a
distinctive honors curriculum intended to provide scholars
with a focused liberal arts experience and undergraduate
research opportunities within the context of a regional
university taught by seasoned faculty.
UHS Scholarship (8 semesters)
Scholarships cover in-state and out-of-state tuition and most
fees, a standard residence hall and meal package, and an
honors Allowance of $150/semester (which may increase to
$500 if receiving Tennessee Hope Scholarship).
In addition to major/minor and pre-professional advisers,
University Honors Scholars receive individual advising with
the UHS program director through the Honors College,
helping to make sure students are on track to meet goals
and graduate on time.
Honors students are permitted to register for courses early,
which insures an opportunity to register for desired courses
that best fit with their schedule.
24/7 access to Honors House (Ada Earnest) which offers
individual and group study rooms with computers, a computer
lab, a TV/movie room, conference room with presentation
capability and a mini kitchen as well as the offices of University
honors scholars staff.
The opportunity to serve on the Honors College Student
Council and other Honors College ad hoc committees in
order to have input as to the Honors experience at ETSU.
Social Events and Activities
A small community of high-achieving students in a variety
of honors programs, the Honors College regularly hosts
