Tuition Assistance and Professional Development
Whether your are pursuing another degree taking courses for professional advancement, the Tuition Assistance Programs at ETSU are designed to support your profession career goals. Fee tuition discounts are also available for spouses and dependents. Each program has eligibility requirements and provisions that are detailed in the Education Assistance Policy.
Continued training and development for faculty and staff are offered through Human Resources Learning and Development, Academic Technology Services, Office of Equity and Inclusion, Professional Development Grants for faculty, seminars and conferences and more. Work with your supervisor or dean to develop your personal career development plan.
ETSU faculty and staff have borrowing privileges, including interlibrary loans, through the university libraries. Visit the Sherrod Library or the Medical Library websites for information on resources and services available to ETSU employees.
Health and Fitness
ETSU-affiliated clinics offer a wide variety of services to the campus and community. Explore the video of the 120,000 square foot Basler Center for Physical Activity. Membership is free to full-time faculty and staff. Also check out the Outdoor Recreation Resources and download the maps of the 1 mile on-campus fitness trail and 5 miles of forested hiking trails.

ETSU promotes and supports the idea that every person can make a unique and positive contribution to our campus.
ETSU faculty and staff are encouraged to explore the range of campus programs, resources and education opportunities that foster cultural expression and diversity of thought. Attend a multicultural event or seminar. Visit a student or guest artist exhibit at one of our galleries or museums. Find faculty and staff resources at the Pride Center. Support the Buccaneers at a sporting event. Have lunch with your students or colleagues in the Culp. Become engaged in continuing the rich traditions of ETSU and our region and promoting awareness and appreciation for other cultures by supporting campus-sponsored events and programs.
University School
The University School is located in the heart of the ETSU campus and offers college preparatory curriculum for children grades K-12.
Admission priority is given to children whose parent/guardian are University School faculty or staff. Applications are accepted beginning January 1st and ending the last business day of February by 4 p.m. for the school year beginning in July. Information about admission to the University School can be found on the University School website.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides consultation, self-help resources and referral for employees and their eligible family members who are experiencing personal problems which are likely to impact work performance and/or personal well-being. The EAP offers more than just counseling. Other services include recommendations and information for: household services (e.g plumbers who work evenings, housekeepers, auto repair shops), shopping, entertainment, parenting support, elder support services, and much more.
