DATA ENTRY ASSOCIATE
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Familiarity with relevant software. Knowledge of data organization, storage, retrieval,

and confidentiality. General knowledge of office procedures and documentation practices.
Strong focus on accuracy, with the ability to detect and correct errors in data. Ability
to identify issues or inconsistencies in data and determine appropriate corrective
actions. Proficiency in using computers and office software, including word processing,
spreadsheets, and database tools.
Role Description
Responsible for performing general data entry support tasks by following established policies and procedures. Competencies for this role are usually gained through specialized or on-the-job training.
Typical Functions:
Accurately inputs, updates, and maintains data in databases, spreadsheets, and other
information systems.
Reviews data for errors or discrepancies, verifying and correcting any inconsistencies as needed.
Organizes and maintains data files, ensuring accurate record-keeping and easy retrieval
of information.
Retrieves specific data or generates reports from databases by following established
queries or data retrieval processes.
Conducts routine checks to ensure data integrity and identify any gaps or errors in
data sets.
Maintains both digital and physical files, ensuring data is stored systematically
for future access.
Assists in the preparation of data reports and summaries for management or team use.
Records and documents data entry activities, providing logs of completed tasks or
issues encountered.
Works with other departments or team members to ensure that data entry tasks are completed
in alignment with project goals or organizational needs.
Follows all organizational and legal requirements related to data privacy and security
when handling sensitive or confidential information.
Levels
Data Entry Associate 1Performs under direct supervision, and work is closely monitored for accuracy. Ensures that data is organized, error-free, and accessible, adhering to established data entry procedures. Work is closely supervised and reviewed for accuracy. Education/Experience:

Data Entry Associate 2Performs under general supervision. Tasks vary in complexity from day to day, and the employee decides how tasks are completed and chooses the best options from those available as defined by policies and procedures. Some specialized knowledge of databases and data management systems is required, along with the ability to manage multiple data projects simultaneously. Education/Experience:Typically requires a high school diploma and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Advanced degree preferred. Computer and technology skills required.
