Role Description
Responsible for supporting medical functions under close supervision. This role is not responsible for providing direct patient care. Competencies for this role are usually gained through specialized or on-the-job training.
Typical Functions:
Collects, cleans, sterilizes, repairs, and delivers medical instruments, equipment,
and linens.
Operates specialized equipment.
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
Maintains a daily record of activities.
Packages and inspects cleaned and sterilized items.
Works with external agencies to assist in the completion of tasks and to receive and
ship items.
Manages inventory and places orders when necessary.
Levels
Medical Technical Aide 1Entry-level role that performs routine, standardized, well-defined tasks following
standard policies and guidelines. Education/Experience:Typically requires a high school diploma and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Applicable certification may be required. |
