Medical Technical Assistant
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge of the area of medical care provided. Customer service skills. Knowledge of applicable regulations, policies, and procedures. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Role Description
Responsible for assisting in medical functions by performing medical support and/or direct patient care. Competencies for this role are usually gained through formal education and/or certification, specialized training, and/or experience in a program or specialty area specific to the position responsibilities.
Levels
Medical Technical Assistant 1Provides transfer and transport of patients, equipment, supplies, and/or specimens
within the medical facility. Education/Experience:Typically requires a high school diploma and six months of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Applicable certification may be required. |
Medical Technical Assistant 2Records and reports patient concerns to the medical provider. Education/Experience:Typically requires a relevant medical education and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Licensure/Certification in a specialized field may be required. |
Medical Technical Assistant 3Performs functions of Medical Technical Assistant 2, in addition to performing specialized
tasks in an area of expertise. Education/Experience:Typically requires a relevant medical education and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Licensure/Certification in a specialized field may be required. |
