Role Description
Responsible for providing leadership, direction, training, and management for procurement functions, which may include surplus functions in a procurement area. Manages budgets, provides expertise and analysis for strategic and long‐range planning, provides interpretation of rules and regulations, and is responsible for enforcing compliance. This role accomplishes goals through overseeing their areas of responsibility, planning, managing resources, prioritizing, and directing the responsibilities of employees.
Levels
Procurement Management 1Manages the day-to-day operations and personnel of a functional procurement subunit
within a larger unit. OR manages the day-to-day operations, budget, and personnel
of a small functional procurement unit. Education/Experience:Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and five years of relevant, progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. |
Procurement Management 2Manages the day-to-day operations, budget, and personnel of a complex functional unit. Education/Experience:Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and seven years of relevant, progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. |
Procurement Management 3Responsible for overseeing the operation of the purchasing and contract offices for system-wide administration. The position will oversee and coordinate the University’s contract process. Coordinate initiatives with purchasing and contracts offices across the University System. Responsible for system-wide procurement policies, contract administration and review, diversity business enterprises, e-procurement and software systems related to procurement. Education/Experience: |
