Role Description
Responsible for performing procurement functions. This role demonstrates a level of expertise in one or more areas and is responsible for the interpretation and application of broad policies and procedures. May supervise the work of others; however, this is a secondary function of the role. Competencies for this role are typically gained through formal education, specialized training, and/or experience in a program or specialty area specific to the position responsibilities. Specialized and progressively responsible experience is required as the level increases.
Levels
Procurement Professional 1Responsible for procurement services including a request for quotations (RFQ), requests
for proposals (RFP), requests for qualified suppliers, requests for information, and
contracts. Education/Experience:Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. |
Procurement Professional 2In addition to the responsibilities of Professional Level 1, supervises and trains
procurement staff members and/or performs advanced functions related to a specialty
area of focus (contract review, e-commerce, etc.). Education/Experience:Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. |
