Job Family Concept

The Technical job family is responsible for all aspects of technical related activities. This job family provides design, fabrication, and maintenance support for the education, research, and clinical programs within the university.

Roles

Technical Assistant Responsible for performing technical duties in the installation, maintenance, and service of electronic equipment and systems. Competencies for this role are usually gained through specialized or on-the-job training.

Technical Specialist Responsible for performing technical related activities in the design, fabrication, and maintenance support for specialized equipment used in research or clinical activities. Competencies for this role are usually gained through specialized or on-the-job training.

Technical Supervisor Responsible for supervising and supporting the educational, research, and clinical programs in the technical services specialty area. Manages staff and operations of a technical area to include scheduling time, managing performance, supply and logistics, identifying training needs, and providing recommendations for personnel actions.
