Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in overseeing and/or making arrangements for meetings, luncheons, and conferences; identifies and notes building maintenance problems so they may be corrected; and performs related work as required.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Assigns duties to custodians such as arranging tables, chairs, etc.
Welcomes guests as they enter the building and checks ID cards for authorized entry when necessary.
Performs inspections of building and/or buildings.
Identifies problems such as weather leaks, broken equipment, lights out, heating, electrical, etc.
Writes and submits work order requests.
Inspects building for such hazards as slippery floors, fire hazards, etc.
Prepares and submits reports concerning maintenance repairs.
Performs equipment inventory on tables, chairs, dishwashers, china, eating utensils, etc.
Performs other work as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of facility layout and locations.
Ability to be patient, attentive and dependable in dealing with people.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to work around flexible work schedules.
Ability to carry out work of a routine nature.
Ability to keep records and make routine reports.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees.
Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. Graduation from a standard high school.
