Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in administering, scoring and reporting related to GED Test and other related tests; assisting counselors with routine academic advising, and performing related work as assigned.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Administers and grades GED Test.
Scores test, prepares and mails reports of results.
Assists with registration and related academic advising.
Administers State Insurance Examination and prepares and mails reports.
Performs other work as required.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of pertinent test administration techniques, scoring and reporting methods.
Knowledge of academic requirements of the college.
Knowledge of the registration process, forms, and related information.
Ability to relate to students, to understand their needs, and offer sound and accurate advice when needed.
Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with students and other employees.
Ability to keep accurate records and make reports as needed.
Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. Successful completion of two years of college work, including or supplemented by courses in psychology, sociology, and office practices. Experience in working with students.
