Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in certifying requirements for degree posting. Performs other duties as assigned.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Certifies requirements for degree posting.
Receives applications for degree candidacy, transcripts, all information and forms pertinent to student's program.
Posts grade changes, repeats, credit by examination, etc., to students record.
Maintains current listing of graduation candidates.
Verifies all requirements for graduation are met.
Notifies student and advisor of any discrepancy in qualifications for graduation.
Advises students on programs and requirements.
Composes routine correspondence as required.
Handles mailouts.
Operates office copying machine.
Assists in preparations for graduation exercises.
May use office machines such as adding machine, typewriter, calculator, etc.
Performs other duties as required.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to deal with a variety of people.
Ability to attend to details.
Ability to proofread written materials.
Ability to extract information from conversation and/or documents.
Ability to record information.
Ability to understand what others are saying.
Ability to read.
Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. High school graduate or equivalent or two years general office work experience. Preferred: two years academic coursework past high school education.
