Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in operating the central information center, acting as receptionist, and performing general clerical duties. Performs other duties as assigned.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Controls issuance and distribution of brochures, parking permits, tickets and other items.
Operates a reserved parking lot and drive-in window.
Compiles, catalogs or reports university events and directory information.
Receives or solicits departmental announcements, news releases, information on special events, class schedules, etc. for general distribution.
Plans and estimates office needs and operating requirements.
Receives monthly accounting report and keeps track of expenditures.
Attends staff meetings, and submits regular activity report.
Makes recommendations on center operation; composes correspondence.
Interviews, hires, trains and schedules work of clerical employees.
Receives calls, greets visitors, and answers questions.
Collects check or credit payments for tickets.
Types forms, lists, memos, mailing labels, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Typing ability.

Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. High school graduate or equivalent; type 45 wpm; plus two years clerical experience including supervision of clerical employees.
