Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in inventory, supply, and delivery control over a large function at an institution and performing related work as required.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Works with various administrative personnel supplying information relating to the selection and ordering of office furniture, equipment, supplies, etc.
Codes forms and requisitions requested items.
Maintains and supervises purchase and inventory control records.
Supervises and assists in the pickup, storage and delivery of ordered items.
Keeps records and prepares reports.
Performs other work as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding purchase requisitions.
Knowledge of available sources of supply.
Knowledge of record keeping and inventory methods and procedures.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision.
Ability to implement and maintain inventory control methods and procedures.
Ability to direct the work of others.
Ability to keep records and prepare reports.
Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions.
Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees.
Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. Graduation from a standard high school. Experience involving receiving, storing and stock inventory maintenance or related work.
