Definition
Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in helping on Webb Press and operating small presses. Performs other duties as assigned.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in preparing Webb Press for operation.
Occasionally operates Webb Press under close supervision.
Operates small presses (10 x 15 offset).
Mixes and handles ink.
Prepares cut stock for insertion into larger presses.
Operates hand operated lift trucks.
Cleans and maintains presses and related machines.
Assists in binding.
Compares color of printer copy to art work or color samples.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to work until job demands are met.
Ability to operate presses 10 x 15 and larger.
Ability to perform preventive maintenance.
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Recommended Qualifications
Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. High school graduate or equivalent; plus two years experience on presses 10 x 15 and larger.
