International Merit Scholarships
International Merit Scholarships are available to new degree-seeking international students. All students who apply for admission are considered for these scholarships. No separate application is needed.

The STEM Community Outreach Scholarship is available to new, undergraduate students majoring in Computing, Geosciences, Mathematics, and Physics. Scholarship recipients only pay in-state tuition, making this award equivalent to approximately $20,000 per year!

Sister Cities International Student Scholarship
The Sister Cities International Student Scholarship Endowment was established by the Sister Cities Chapter of Tri-Cities, TN-VA to honor the organization's mission "to promote preach through mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation," and to generate scholarships for deserving international students enrolled at East Tennessee State University.
Criteria:
- Must have active F-1 status
- Must have completed one full semester of study at ETSU at the time of application
- Undergraduate students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and graduate students a 3.5 GPA.
- Students must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours for undergraduate and 9 for graduate students)
Deadline: July 15
Amount: Varies by semester, but no higher than $500 per award.

Changemaker Scholars Program
The Changemaker Scholars Program helps students acquire the knowledge, skills, resources, and mindset to become creative problem-solvers, engaged citizens, and active agents for positive change in their communities. The program provides opportunities for students with a variety of interests and majors to gain a deeper understanding of social problems, collaborate with campus and community partners to find creative solutions to these problems, and integrate a changemaker mindset into their academic, personal, and professional lives.
Criteria: The Changemaker Scholars Program seeks applicants with a demonstrated interest in and commitment to community involvement, social innovation, and other efforts to enact positive change in their communities. Minimum requirements include a 3.5 GPA or a 26 ACT.
Deadline: March 1
Amount: $9,000 per academic year
