Eileen Bailey
JOHNSON CITY (Nov. 6, 2015) – East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine has hired Eileen Bailey to serve as the associate dean for Continuing Medical Education (CME).
Bailey, originally from Upstate New York, joined ETSU on Oct. 15 after working for several years at the University of Virginia as CME program manager. In her new role, Bailey oversees the quality of ETSU’s CME program, which includes approximately 175 individual activities annually.
“Continuing medical education is all about impacting patient lives for the good through the process of providing their physicians with high quality educational opportunities to advance their knowledge and skills,” Bailey said, adding that she is looking forward to expanding the CME affiliations and collaborative efforts both locally and regionally.
Bailey earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communications and her Masters of Science in strategic and organizational communications, both from Ithaca College. She has been working in the continuing medical education field for 15 years.
“The Quillen College of Medicine enhances the health of our region not only by training medical students and residents, but also by providing ongoing education to physicians in practice,” said Dr. Robert Means, dean of the medical school. “Eileen Bailey is a highly experienced CME professional who is well qualified to lead our CME program to the next level of excellence. We are delighted she accepted our offer.”
Outside of the office, Bailey trains and competes in numerous types of events with purebred dogs, five of which made the move with her from Virginia to the Tri-Cities area this fall. She also enjoys reading and attending the theater.
