JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Jan. 5, 2024) – East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College
of Pharmacy is offering a free Pharmacy Career Exploration Day on Saturday, Feb. 24,
2024, with check in at 9 a.m. in Building 7, the main pharmacy building on the Mountain
Home VA Campus.
Students can learn more about the wide variety of pharmacy careers available, as well as more about ETSU Gatton College of Pharmacy, a nationally recognized college of pharmacy in Johnson City, Tennessee. The event will include a welcome from Dean Debbie Byrd, hands-on experiences, a chance to talk with student pharmacists and faculty, personalized admissions pathway information and campus tours. A complimentary lunch will be provided. Guests are invited to attend the activities, as well as lunch, if they wish.
“The roles of pharmacists have grown exponentially over the years, from traditional
roles in community pharmacies to a wide range of career options, like ambulatory care
pharmacy, nuclear pharmacy, clinical pharmacy, and much more,” said Dr. Kathy Mueller,
director of admissions and assistant professor of Pharmacy Practice. “Pharmacists
are the most accessible health care provider and serve on the frontlines, so we’re
excited for prospective students to learn more about this exciting career."
