Step 3 Choose "Graduate," select your student type (domestic or international), select "Certificate," term, then choose Design for Virtual Learning and complete the remainder of the form.

There are no particular course or degree prerequisites. However, applicants must meet the ETSU Graduate School admission requirements found here.
Does this program require the GRE (and/or GMAT)?Neither the GRE nor the GMAT are required for this program.
Are the courses for this certificate asynchronous or synchronous?Courses for this program are asynchronous with optional synchronous meetings. There are minimal required synchronous meetings devoted to presentations (if necessary).
Does this certificate require a dissertation, field work, internship, and/or thesis?This certificate does not require fieldwork, but it is the intention that students leave with a solid portfolio of artifacts rooted in instructional design theory. Most often, prospective employers will request to see evidence of work. Our program encourages students to create and maintain a digital portfolio that demonstrates their application to practice mastery. All artifacts featured in the portfolio will be assessed by the program's certificate instructors to ensure the highest quality.
Is this certificate designed to meet the needs of adults who work full-time and/or have family obligations?
Yes, definitely! The classes are online and are accelerated and staggered to better help students balance their personal and professional obligations.

Full-time students typically complete the program in 2 consecutive semesters

Part-time students typically complete the program in 3-4 semesters depending on the student's needs and limitations.
