External and Governmental Reports
ETSU supplies information to federal and private organizations. Many of those organizations, using our data, make analyses and comparative studies available for use in decision support. The following surveys were completed by the IR office and data have been returned to ETSU in summary format.
American Association of University Professors (AAUP)
The AAUP research program tracks trends in higher education and produces reports on topics including faculty compensation, academic labor, and gender equity in academia. The AAUP conducts an annual survey on full-time faculty compensation at participating institutions. There are two basic report formats: (1) institutional profiles which provide data for a single institution over time, and (2) peer comparisons which provide the most recent data available for a set of institutions. College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA)
CUPA-HR is the national authority on compensation surveys for higher education. The salary survey can help a college or university evaluate its budget and ensure its compensation packages are competitive with those of other institutions. Click above link to access information.
The Common Data Set (CDS) is a set of data provided by an institution in a common manner with a standard set of data definitions used in the higher education community and by publishers as represented by the College Board, Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report . The combined goal of this collaboration initiative is to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student's transition into higher education, as well as to reduce the reporting burden on data providers. Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System, IPEDS, NCES Data Feedback Reports
The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) through the annual IPEDS reporting collects from ETSU data about enrollment measures; student demographics; tuition and fees; financial aid awards; graduation rates; transfer-out rates; degrees awarded; fiscal indicators; FTE of students, staff, faculty; and employee salaries.
The IPEDS Data Feedback Reports are intended to provide institutions a context for examining the data they have submitted to IPEDS and to allow the institution to see a comparison of their data to data submitted by other institutions. An institution is given the opportunity to select its own comparison group. NCES stronglyencourages institutions to take advantage of the opportunity to select other institutions to which they want to be compared. If an institution does not submit its own group of comparison institutions, IPEDS identified a comparison group for the Feedback Reports. Click above link to access information.
